Olÿphant [ol-uh-funt] was formed in 2009. The band draws from a unique amalgam of musical influences including 80s thrash-, doom-, classic-, and modern progressive- metal. Lyrically and thematically, the band draws heavily from horror movies, Tolkien, Stephen King, H.P Lovecraft, and a variety of other tales of the weird, wild, and unexplained.
